Fenders don't extend down as far as they might for maximum protection, because the ends would be vulnerable to damage from curbs and the like. Instead, flexible extensions called "mud flaps" are a valuable addition. A suitable mud flap will extend spray protection all the way down to your feet.
These flaps are long and nicely shaped to be a nice addition for your fenders. You may see these flaps on many Planet Bike fenders, but they would also work great with other fenders such as SKS as long as they have a corresponding width.
Please note that some drilling might be required in order to install these flaps.
